Over 40 kilos of mussels and oysters, ready to be served, did not have traceability documentation or documentation certifying transit through a shipping center.

The discovery was made by military personnel from the Cagliari Port Authority's Fishing Control Center over the weekend in an ethnic restaurant on Viale Marconi.

The investigation led to the imposition of an administrative fine of €1,500 for lack of traceability and the seizure of the entire batch of fish products, which were thus withdrawn from sale.

Hygiene anomalies were also detected, so the intervention of the Prevention Technicians of the SIAN (Food and Nutrition Hygiene Service) of the Cagliari Local Health Authority was requested. Following a thorough inspection, they imposed a fine of €1,000 for poor hygiene and sanitation conditions and issued an administrative order to restore the sanitation and hygiene conditions.

During the inspection, the alleged supplier of shellfish to the restaurant was also identified.
