741 additional beds have been created for university students in Sardinia thanks to the Ministry of University and Research's (MUR) Housing Plan, supported by resources from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Of these, 576 have already been built and are available to students. To access these spaces, students can contact the regional agencies for the right to education or, based on merit, directly with the residence managers. Specifically, 482 beds are in the province of Sassari and 94 in the province of Cagliari . For the additional 165, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which is managing the second tranche of the call for proposals on behalf of the MUR, has completed all the required documents. The new accommodations will be available, under the same conditions, in 2027.

"As for the province of Cagliari, these are the 20 that will open at the Sant'Efisio College, of which 6 will be made available to ERSU, and the 74 at the Student House on Via Montesanto," explains Marco Meloni, president of ERSU . "The ministry has launched calls for proposals to renovate the student residences, and ERSU has participated with two lots of the Via Montesanto facility, which will thus reopen after 10 years of closure. Thanks to the completion of the first lot, 74 beds will be made available to the same number of students by October 6th. And we expect to complete the second lot by the next academic year and make another 106 available, bringing the total number of beds to 180."

"The result achieved in Sardinia contributes to a fundamental goal for the entire country. More housing makes our universities more accessible and attractive, while also strengthening the regions that host them," declared Minister of Universities and Research Anna Maria Bernini . "These accommodations are a concrete response to the need for housing for non-residents and an investment in every student's right to freely choose where to study."
