So many uncivilized people, too much abandoned waste that exposes students, teachers and citizens to "potential health and hygiene dangers" .
For this reason , the University of Cagliari has decided to close the parking lots on Via Trentino, on the student housing side, during the evenings and on holidays .
This measure was "forced" by the University following "repeated reports of waste dumping and uncivilized behavior." The waste found, it is clarified, was not related to university activities, but to uncivilized acts by private citizens.
To prevent potential health and hygiene risks, the University has initiated an extraordinary operation to remove abandoned waste and carry out subsequent cleaning, while also arranging for the gate at the entrance to the area to be reinstalled .
Therefore, starting today, the car park will remain closed from 8pm to 7am from Monday to Friday, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays . Only the pedestrian crossing will be open for access to the library during permitted hours.
"This measure," emphasizes Roberto Alba, Director of the Communications, Student Services, and General Services Department, "was necessary to ensure greater safety and protect students, university staff, and all users of services in the area. It is a responsible decision to preserve the decorum and livability of common areas and aims to permanently combat littering in university buildings. The University is also evaluating the installation of a 24-hour video surveillance system for additional monitoring of the area."
