Following the request of the Ukrainian Honorary Consul in Cagliari, Anthony Grande, the municipal council approved the activation of a counter for the crisis unit for the war in Ukraine.
The decision is to support the Ukrainian population by offering every form of support and closeness "in that spirit of welcome and solidarity that has always distinguished the Sardinian population, also mindful of a time of war that is still alive and present in many citizens of our Earth".
The premises in via Santa Margherita 51 have been made available. The counter will carry out secretarial activities aimed at organizing aid and support for the Ukrainian population. In a few days the gazebo in Piazza Ingrao will also be made available as a base for sorting out information.
The Consulate welcomed with great emotion and gratitude the help of the Municipality of Cagliari which has renewed its willingness to implement further actions based on the needs that emerge.
At the delivery of the keys to the premises were present representatives of the municipal administration, the Crisis Unit, the Consulate and Ukrainian volunteers who will collaborate with the organization.
