The Carabinieri of Villacidro, with the specialized support of the Ecological Operations Unit (NOE) of Cagliari, conducted an extraordinary control service in the waste management and disposal sector.

The operation focused on inspections of tire retail and repair businesses : it was aimed at verifying compliance with environmental regulations and preventing the abandonment or illegal storage of polluting materials.

During inspections at one of the companies, the military found serious irregularities in the management of components for disposal. Violations of environmental regulations were reported following the discovery of large piles of special waste , both hazardous and non-hazardous, stored in violation of legal requirements.
