The images from the Anas cameras will perhaps clarify the dynamics of last Saturday's accident at the 14th kilometer of the Orientale Sarda, near Solanas.

Meanwhile, the driver of the van that collided with the Fiat 500 carrying the two victims has been entered into the register of suspects on charges of vehicular homicide : a necessary step to allow for all investigations and to clarify the incident in every detail.

The van apparently invaded the opposite lane and ended up crashing into the Fiat 500: help was provided immediately by some passing motorists who managed to pull Rodolfo Monaco , 77, from Rome, residing in Quartu, and Giuliano Ortu, 50, a gardener from Settimo San Pietro, out of the passenger compartment of the small car.

The pensioner died shortly thereafter. Ortu, a few hours later, was admitted to the hospital in Cagliari, where he had been in critical condition. The investigation was carried out by Carabinieri from the Quartu Company's Mobile Radio Operations Unit, who arrived at the scene of the tragedy with Major Michele Cerri and Lieutenants Vittorio Piras and Andrea Boni.
