Two lifesaving operations by the Italian Air Force today involved a two-day-old newborn and a 13-year-old boy .
The first emergency air transport was carried out with a G650 aircraft on the Cagliari-Rome route to transfer the newborn from the Cagliari University Hospital to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome.
The little patient traveled in a thermal bassinet , assisted and accompanied throughout the flight by a medical team and his father before reaching the Roman hospital where he will receive the necessary treatment.
A second aircraft, a C130J departing from the Pisa base, landed at the capital's military airport to transport a 13-year-old boy in critical condition. The aircraft from the 46th Air Brigade directly picked up the ambulance carrying the boy and supporting medical equipment.
