The full gas cylinders fell one at a time for hundreds of kilometres, on the journey between Cagliari and Porto Torres, along the entire 131 . The truck driver didn't notice anything. And it is truly a coincidence that this is not the chronicle of a tragedy.
Only one of the LPG containers, with a capacity of 20 kilos each (plus the weight of the metal), ended up against a car traveling behind the truck : damage to the vehicle, but the driver was unharmed.
The incredible sequence took place this morning on Carlo Felice, the main road in Sardinia. The driver of the heavy vehicle continued his journey to the port of destination, while cylinders fell from the floor onto the asphalt . The loss of cargo appears to have started at Nuraminis.
Then the traffic officers, alerted by alarmed motorists and immediately setting off in pursuit, found cylinders at kilometer 30, 35, 60, 70, 78. One was also reported in Campeda. Another rolled to a stop in the fast lane . The Polstrada patrols followed the "traces" left by the driver "Pollicino del Gpl" up to Porto Torres, where he had arrived very relieved and completely unaware of the near massacre . According to what we learn, he was sober. So one question remains: how did he not notice anything?
