Truck-car collision on 554: two injured in hospital

There are two injured in the road accident that took place in the afternoon on state road 554 : a lorry driver originally from Sassari and a woman from Iglesias . The first was driving an Iveco; the woman was instead at the wheel of her Citroën.

The two are hospitalized at the Monserrato Polyclinic with the prognosis linked to the ongoing health checks. Fortunately, their lives are not in danger even if they were accompanied to the hospital in code red .

The legal findings were carried out by the local police of Selargius, coordinated by Captain Tomaso Acquas: the accident occurred at the traffic light at via Nenni , on the lane towards Quartu, in the Selargius area. There would have been a rear-end collision with the car flying off the road over the ditch and with the Iveco truck which also ended up off the road, stopping on the ditch.

The alarm raised by passing motorists was immediate with the arrival of several 118 ambulances and some patrols of the local Selargius police .

Traffic was immediately diverted onto side streets, while the medics began the rescue of the wounded, who were then transported to the general hospital.

The legal findings went on for over an hour .

Obviously there was no shortage of inconvenience for motorists in transit.
