In Trexenta, too, alarm has been raised over scam messages related to TARI payments. Several residents are reporting receiving suspicious text messages asking them to settle alleged tax payment irregularities, including a toll-free number to call. The Union of Municipalities of Trexenta has clarified the situation, and together with the Municipality of Guasila, they have issued an official notice to warn the public. "Neither the Union of Municipalities nor the Municipality sends these types of phone messages," the statement, also published on the official website, states.

The fraudulent messages report an alleged irregular TARI payment and urge recipients to call a toll-free number that, according to the authorities, "has nothing to do with the public institutions that administer the tax." Citizens are clearly advised not to contact the number listed and not to provide any personal information. If you receive these text messages, you are advised to report the incident to law enforcement. The warning is part of a preventative effort to combat a phenomenon that has recently been affecting several areas, exploiting local taxes to defraud taxpayers.
