A serious incident has shocked the community of Tresnuraghes. Yesterday morning, inside the parish of San Giorgio Martire , unknown assailants stole some precious ornaments belonging to the statue of the Madonna Assunta , precisely during the days when the Octave is celebrated.

The parish priest himself, Don Andrea Manca , noticed the theft and informed the faithful with an official communication.

"It is with great regret that I must inform you that some criminals have stolen eleven rings and a pair of earrings that Our Lady of the Assumption was wearing," he explained. "The church is always open for prayer, and unfortunately, these individuals were able to act undisturbed."

The deeply saddened priest emphasized that the damage is not only material but above all spiritual: "The sadness is so great that it makes one cry, not so much for the economic value, but for the sentimental one. Every object donated is the fruit of a grace received or a request made to the Virgin Mary."

An appeal to the community was also made: "Anyone who has seen suspicious people or behavior is asked to report it to me or the police," added Father Andrea, who then addressed those responsible for the act: "I hope they will seriously reflect on what they have done. Taking something away from Our Lady of the Assumption is like taking something away from your own mother."

The investigation is ongoing, and the Carabinieri are gathering evidence to help identify the culprits. Meanwhile, the community is experiencing moments of grief and outrage over an act that represents not only a theft, but also a wound to the religious devotion that binds the faithful to the Virgin.

Don Andrea concluded by inviting the parishioners to pray, with the hope that the precious objects will soon be returned to their place and that dignity will be restored to a symbol so dear to the community.
