« The new territorial continuity, promoted by the Todde government, came into force on Sunday . The result, however, is there for all to see: instead of guaranteeing accessible connections for Sardinians and for those who wish to reach the island, it has produced a paradox that risks completely isolating Sardinia ». So says Ugo Cappellacci , deputy and head of the National Department of Insularity of Forza Italia. Who continues: «Today a flight from Rome to Cagliari can cost over 570 euros, an absurd figure, which seriously penalizes the Island , making it inaccessible for many and compromising its economic and tourist development. The comparison is merciless and demonstrates the incompetence of this government: a flight to New York can cost around 300 euros, almost half of that to reach Cagliari from Rome. This imbalance highlights the inadequacy of the new management of territorial continuity and the incompetence of those in government today, who have not been able to guarantee the right to mobility for Sardinian citizens or protect the needs of the island. If rates can reach these peaks in a low season, we can only imagine what will happen in the summer, when demand for the island grows exponentially."

"The current situation is unacceptable - concludes Cappellacci - and requires immediate intervention to correct a system that, as it is, risks transforming Sardinia into an increasingly isolated island. Sardinians do not need promises, but concrete actions and effective solutions that can restore dignity and accessibility to our territory".
