Training courses for young Sardinians for the Army: the councilor is furious after criticism.
Sardinia calls Sardinia: "Why don't we focus on healthcare?" The Five Star Movement member's venomous response: "There's a fake, carefully crafted video going around. But I'm putting my face on it." Her response: "It's sidestepping the issue."
There's a heated argument over the agreement between ASPAL and the Italian Army, which aims to train young Sardinians to swell the ranks of the armed forces. Criticism has come from Sardegna chiama Sardegna (Sardinia Calls Sardinia). And Labor Councilor Desirè Manca is furious.
Sardinia Calls Sardinia – in a video starring Angelica Caboni – criticizes and asks a question: "Why is an agreement to guide young people toward military careers considered a priority in a land so desperately in need of people to care for them?" The discussion focuses on the contradiction between the Five Star Movement's alleged pacifism and the testing, in Sardinian firing ranges, of weapons used in war zones where people are killed.
A question that is reinforced by the representation of the real need for healthcare workers: these, according to Caboni, are needed in Sardinia, more than new soldiers.
Manca doesn't take it well. In fact, she responds with a video that immediately begins in a loud, contemptuous, and angry tone. Manca calls it a lie, a deliberately staged video: "I want to offer support to young people who haven't had it until now, to help them navigate through job centers. This will also apply to other police forces." And Manca adds: "Doctors aren't trained through regional courses."
At this point, Caboni weighs in. And he accuses: "The answer to my question hasn't arrived: the councilor hasn't said why they're focusing on the military and not on training those who will care for us. Because it's not true that it can't be done: of course, doctors aren't born through regional training. But on this point, a political choice can be made." And another point is emphasized: "Manca says he doesn't deal with healthcare: what about training for healthcare assistants?"
