Tragic crash on Highway 387 in Settimo San Pietro: One dead, two injured

One dead and two injured is the tragic toll of a head-on collision between two vehicles on State Road 387 this afternoon around 2:30 PM.
According to initial reports, an off-road vehicle and a Volkswagen Polo collided at kilometer marker 11, not far from the Charme restaurant in the Settimo San Pietro area.
The victim's name was Ignazio Floris, he was 63 years old: a well-known chef in Cagliari, but resident in Dolianova, he was travelling in the Polo.

Sinnai Soccorso 118 emergency responders responded to the scene, unable to do anything for the victim . They then assisted the other two people involved, who were traveling in the SUV: a 101-year-old man and his son, approximately 70, from Escalaplano. The former was taken to Brotzu Hospital with a red code for chest trauma and multiple wounds by Areus helicopter, while the latter, also suffering from chest trauma, was taken to the Policlinico Hospital by ambulance.
The investigation was carried out by the local police of the Parteolla Union of Municipalities. The road was closed, with traffic prohibited in both directions until the vehicles were towed away. That stretch of road was reopened to traffic only at 5:30 PM. Meanwhile, law enforcement is trying to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
