Tragic accident on State Road 196: 23-year-old woman from Villacidro dies

A tragic road accident occurred on state highway 196 at kilometer marker 32+500 , on the stretch connecting Gonnosfanadiga to Villacidro . A 23-year-old woman, resident of Villacidro , N.C. , lost her life, and unfortunately nothing could be done for her.
The alarm was raised shortly after the impact when the Ford Ficus the young woman was driving overturned several times.
The Carabinieri Radiomobile responded to the scene, immediately initiating investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of the accident, and the 118 emergency services arrived from Guspini and San Gavino. Paramedics made lengthy attempts to resuscitate the young woman, but her injuries proved too serious. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The road was closed to traffic, and then reopened with alternating one-way traffic to allow for rescue operations and legal investigations. The military is working to determine the cause of the crash.
