Condolences in Bancali for the death of Marco Consiglio , a prison officer who died yesterday in a motorcycle accident in Sicily. The 30-year-old Sicilian lost his life just outside Sciacca, in the province of Agrigento, where he was on vacation. He was joining another colleague, also serving time at the Bacchiddu prison in Sassari, when, sadly, he was killed in the tragic accident.

"Marco had been working at the Sassari institute for several years," his colleagues recall, "where he had become a well-known and appreciated presence. Reserved, polite, always respectful, and possessing a deep sense of honor and duty, he was one of those colleagues who didn't need many words to make an impact."

Consiglio, who worked at the GOM in Bancali, was supposed to join the Mobile Operations Group in Rome on September 7th, but fate prevented him. Now, both the Penitentiary Police Department and its commander are mourning him, expressing their deepest sympathies for the man's family.

"The news of his death has deeply affected Bancali's colleagues, who today remember him first and foremost for who he was as a man: a good, discreet young man, kind to everyone, capable of making himself loved without ever seeking the center of attention."

Tomorrow, the day of the funeral in Agrigento, a memorial mass for the 30-year-old will be held at 4:00 PM in the church of Bancali, officiated by Father Antonio, the parish priest. "Marco," his colleagues conclude, "wasn't just a colleague to us. He was one of us, a brother. His memory will live on within the walls of Bancali and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him."
