A 61-year-old French tourist, on holiday in Gallura, died this morning while aboard a rented dinghy sailing near the so-called 'Molara pools', off the coast of Tavolara.

The woman reportedly felt ill and was immediately transported to the nearby landing place on the island, where she was rescued by the air ambulance personnel who arrived on the scene.

Despite attempts to resuscitate her, the 61-year-old died. It was most likely a heart attack. Port Authority officers also arrived on the scene.
