Her name was Manola Mascia, 28 years old, and she lived in Cagliari. Her body was found lifeless in the waters of Cala Fighera, in Cagliari.

According to an initial investigation by coroner Roberto Demontis , the young woman may have fallen into the sea, perhaps from the cliffs of the cove , a destination for numerous hikers. From the reconstruction of the facts, it seems that the twenty-eight-year-old was not alone : she was in fact spotted in the company of her boyfriend, a boy from Quartu . The search for the young man is underway, of whom all traces have been lost, at sea or in the surrounding area, between Calamosca and Sella del Diavolo.

Manola Mascia's body was noticed by a hiker , who located it not far from the rocks . A backpack with various personal effects and a purse were also recovered, probably belonging to the man who was with her. According to initial information, the young woman had not returned home yesterday, so much so that her family alerted the police.

The Coast Guard is investigating the case, and is conducting searches at sea and on land with patrol boats, helicopters and personnel, in addition to the fire brigade. The investigations to clarify the dynamics of the incident are being carried out by investigators from the Flying Squad.
