There was a workplace tragedy this morning at Cagliari's Porto Canale. A truck driver was crushed and killed by a load of pipes.

According to initial reports, the man was apparently run over while loading pipes destined for Arbatax with a forklift.

Ambulances and firefighters were on site. The industrial port was closed and all operations were halted on all docks.

The Carabinieri of the Cagliari company and the provincial command are investigating and are carrying out all the necessary checks.
