The investigation into the alleged trafficking of waste from Olbia to the Cagliari area involves several important Sardinian companies in the car demolition and scrap metal processing sector.

The Carabinieri del Noe of Sassari, together with their colleagues from Cagliari, notified the order of the investigating judge Luca Melis which orders the measure of the residence ban on four entrepreneurs from Sardara and Cagliari.

According to the reconstruction of the soldiers of the Ecological Operational Unit, companies in the south of the island were the reference for the "below cost" sale of untracked waste, almost 1300 tons, illegally stored in Olbia and Telti in at least seven sites. They ended up under house arrest, accused of having collected the material that was then transferred to the Cagliari area, three people of Bosnian origin, father and two sons, all residing in Olbia. In all, five companies are called into question, the suspects are 22.

The allegations by the DDA of Cagliari also concern road hauliers and other entrepreneurs from Sardara, Carbonia, Monastir and Sestu. The Carabinieri followed the trucks that left from the Colcò area, close to the Olbia airport (part of the land is municipal property). The defenders of the persons under investigation (Pier Luigi Concas, Marcella Muzzu, Marco Salis and Cristina Mele) have not released any statements.
