Eighteen euros for two coffees and two salami sandwiches. And without a receipt.

In this summer of crazy receipts comes the complaint of two tourists from Florence on holiday in San Teodoro.

Last Friday they had lunch in the only kiosk on Salina Bamba beach and paid 12 euros for two sandwiches and 6 euros for two coffees. If the price of the coffees is certainly high, that of the sandwiches seems quite average for Italian beaches.

The fact is that the tourists, after paying the bill, turned to the Giustitalia association to report the incident. And the president Luigi De Rossi seized the opportunity.

"The speculation on prices perpetrated by some seaside restaurants is a serious fact that must be reported to the competent authorities, which is why we reported the episode to the Guarantor for price surveillance and to the Municipality of San Teodoro".

Not only the prices are in the crosshairs of the association, but also the non-delivery of the receipt reported by the two tourists: «Imposing a price of no less than 6 euros for a simple salami sandwich and 3 euros for a coffee - specifies the president - represents an intolerable economic speculation. A half-liter bottle of water was sold for 2.5 euros, a high price for a basic necessity that could be purchased in the only kiosk on the beach. But the even more serious thing is that no tax receipt is issued".

«It is not the first time – concludes De Rossi – that we deal with similar cases in Sardinia. The other times they happened in luxury establishments, where it is normal to pay a lot for an aperitif, but here we are talking about almost essential goods such as coffee or water».
