Tourism towards the test of the summer , with Sardinia among the most attractive destinations among Western holidaymakers who, thanks to the crisis in the Persian Gulf, are aiming for closer and safer destinations.
The number of rooms already reserved would seem to confirm this hypothesis, but hoteliers fear last-minute cancellations.
The biggest unknown factor is the cost of transportation: excessive flight and ferry prices could divert tourists to cheaper destinations, such as Spain and Greece.
The trade associations also appeal to the Government and the Region to invest in a genuine diversification of the tourism offering, leveraging the island's many talents to build a more balanced model, less subject to seasonality and more resilient to external shocks.
