Tourism, 2024 a record year for the Island: 4.5 million arrivals, +15% in one year

Record numbers for tourism in Sardinia. In 2024, the regional flow detection system recorded almost 4.5 million arrivals , which generated, with an average stay of 4.25 days, 18 million 860 thousand presences in the island's accommodation facilities .
The increase compared to the previous year is 15.4% . 53% of visitors are foreigners (Germans in the lead), with an increase of 22.6%, and in the extra-European market the United States consolidates. 47% of tourists are Italian.
Low season boom: October marks a +44.69% of presences .
Alghero is the most “popular” municipality, with over one and a half million visitors, followed by Arzachena, Olbia and Cagliari.
The data were presented this morning by the regional councilor for Tourism Franco Cuccureddu, who underlines how 10% more is due to the actual presence, the remaining 5% to the emergence of the black economy , due to the Cin, the national identification code that companies are required to have to be present on the platforms.
