In front of the headquarters on Via Temo, amidst uniforms, civil, military, and religious authorities, and celebrating volunteers, the new ambulance of the Croce Verde Tortolì-Arbatax was inaugurated. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with double significance: the new vehicle, the fifth in the association's fleet, enters service in the year the association celebrates 40 years of service to the community. It was a morning of celebration, but also of pride and remembrance, retracing four decades of interventions, emergencies, medical transport, and a constant presence alongside families in the area. From the first ambulance to today's vehicles, the Croce Verde has grown alongside Tortolì and Arbatax, becoming a point of reference for the entire Ogliastra region. Volunteers in uniform were there to welcome the new vehicle, along with representatives of the institutions, law enforcement, representatives of associations, and many citizens who wished to share in the moment. The blessing of the vehicle, a rite presided over by the parish priest of Sant'Andrea, Father Michele Congiu, and the speeches by the authorities, who emphasized the value of volunteering and the importance of being able to rely on modern, safe, and efficient vehicles to ensure increasingly rapid and qualified assistance, were also present. The new ambulance, equipped with the latest emergency equipment, will be operational immediately and will strengthen the association's response capacity, especially during peak periods and in the most delicate situations. This is a significant investment, made possible thanks to the support of the community, donations, and the tireless commitment of the volunteers, who dedicate their time and energy every day to serving others. Forty years later, the spirit remains the same: being there, when needed, for those in need.
