«I think the energy mix is important, not being ideological about sources, and looking for what is right for each Region to do».

The President of Sardinia, Alessandra Todde , said this while speaking at a panel at the Festival delle Regioni in Venice.

"I inherited - Todde recalled - a 10-year-old energy plan , two coal-fired power plants, large investments in renewables, underused hydroelectricity. I believe we should use all possible levers, including gas, which is a transitional energy, to make our region competitive" , continued the Sardinian governor.

"We want - he concluded - a nuclear that is clean, but there is strong concern about the management of waste, with a very strong no . If we have to discuss the existing nuclear we would have some preclusions. If there are technologies that allow us to manage waste, no preclusions : I have only one face but I have the duty to defend a single environment".
