The political controversy has not subsided following the report of the Board of Guarantors which forwarded to the Regional Council of Sardinia the documents for the dismissal of Alessandra Todde as governor, who is accused of irregularities in the electoral expense reports .
A former party colleague of Todde's, Danilo Toninelli, former Minister of Transport who remained faithful to Beppe Grillo following the split that crossed the 5 Star Movement , after the assembly of members definitively ratified the leadership of Giuseppe Conte , has also intervened in the case in these hours.
"The Todde case - says Toninelli - is a national issue , because it represented the first victory of the so-called Campo largo. Todde was in fact the spearhead of Conte, who is now not speaking because the damage to his image has been enormous . The issue will probably remain in the realm of administrative offences, but Conte and Todde will have to understand if they can move forward politically", added the former minister to the microphones of Radio Cusano. Furthermore, Toninelli continued, "Todde will be continually subjected to the judgement of everyone, of the courts and of politics, how will she be able to do her job in these conditions? Politically speaking, she walks on one leg, at the first mistake she makes, she will inevitably collapse".
The center-right also continues to press the Sardinian governor: "The problem is not whether to go to elections or not. It is that neither President Todde nor the members of the 5 Star Movement or the representatives of Campo Largo admit to having made a mistake. It is not the first time, not having opened the account and appointing the agent. Nor after, with a second memorandum that, apparently, wants to replace the first and that is contradictory, states Salvatore Deidda, deputy of Fratelli d'Italia , in a note. He adds: "Now they want to convince us and claim that the law that we have always respected has not been respected because it is complicated and old. They also want to discredit the electoral guarantee commission of the Court of Appeal. Giving us lessons and taking us for fools is unacceptable. Now we demand clarity - concludes Deidda - on the obvious contradictions of President Todde's statements (she paid for the electoral campaign and vice versa) and on all the passages".
