Collective layoffs have begun at Tiscali: the Sa Illetta company announced it will cut "180 workers from a total workforce of 729, with non-opposition to dismissal as the sole criterion."

Specifically, a communication states that the surplus—as the workers who will be laid off are defined—"is identified within the company's professional profile, corresponding to 155 workers classified as employees up to level 7, 13 workers classified as level 7 managers for personnel employed by companies providing telecommunications services, and 12 journalists."

The regional distribution of the cuts has hit Cagliari hardest: the editorial staff (11 in Sardinia plus one in Rome) has been eliminated. Eight managers and 62 office workers have also been laid off, out of a local total of 443 Sa Illetta employees. Taranto will also be affected, where all 73 employees will be leaving.
