Time in Jazz's historic Instagram profile is back online: "No explanation from the platform."
After days of hiatus, the festival's official profile reappears. But distrust of an "opaque and arbitrary system" is spreading among organizers.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
All's well that ends well. Or almost. Time in Jazz announces that the festival's historic Instagram account has been reinstated, but also that no further information has been released regarding its deactivation, which occurred a few days ago.
"We have received no explanation. No official communication. No apology. No guarantee that what happened won't happen again. At some point," the organization says, "the account simply reappeared, and after all the checks, it seems like nothing was lost. But something, in fact, was lost."
The statement continues: "We have lost faith in an opaque and arbitrary system, capable of erasing 39 years of history, relationships, and work in a matter of seconds, without an interlocutor, without a reason, without the possibility of human interaction. What we have recovered, however, is worth infinitely more than the account itself: the certainty that the Time in Jazz community really exists. That it is made of people, not algorithms. That it knows how to mobilize, support each other, and defend what it believes in."
On this occasion, it was also announced that the @timeinjazz2026 account, created after the original account (@timeinjazz) was deactivated, will not be closed. "It will remain open," it was explained, "as a testimony to what happened and the extraordinary outpouring of affection you have given us. It will also be a different, more intimate space, where we can share thoughts, behind-the-scenes stories, and experiences that would otherwise be difficult to find elsewhere."
