The Carabinieri knocked on his house in Maracalagonis at dawn today to take him to prison. Alberto Porru, 34, must serve 5 years, 8 months and 20 days in prison: the remainder of the sentence that was given to him because he was considered responsible for the tragic accident that, before sunrise on September 17, 2016, cost the life of Davide Giunchini,
a twenty-six year old from Sinnai, and two friends from Quartu, Manuela Olla, 21 years old, and Anna Maria Perra, who was just turning 18, and took another 15 year old girl to the hospital.
The tragic crash occurred in Is Pontis Paris, between Cagliari and Quartu. The five were traveling in a Golf returning from a night out. The car driven by Porru took the ramp towards Quartu at a crazy speed, about 120 kilometers per hour: the vehicle was destroyed, overturning. And the victims were thrown out of the passenger compartment, remaining lifeless.
Tracked down in his home in the Mitza Fonnai area, the thirty-four-year-old did not resist and, after the formal procedures at the barracks, the carabinieri accompanied him to the “Ettore Scalas” prison in Uta, where he will serve his sentence.
