“The response is very low and reservations are few”. It is the first report by Ats on the third doses of the anti-Covid vaccine administered in Sardinia to fragile and immunosuppressed patients.
Only 4 out of 10 have received it, while the numbers drop further if we consider the other categories at risk, such as the elderly over 80.
A decisive slowdown in the vaccination campaign - which also concerns the first doses - which has even blown up the booking system in the vaccination hub at the Cagliari Fair, but not only: to get the vaccine you just need to show up. But that's not enough. In fact, many patients contacted by the health authorities explain that they want to "wait" because they have "heard" of possible side effects ".
Therefore, new ways are being sought to get the vaccination campaign back to running. And also the government, through the voice of the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza , as well as the emergency commissioner Francesco Figliuolo, has in these hours stressed the need to "accelerate", so as not to frustrate the efforts made so far in the battle against the epidemic coronavirus.
