They attempted to board a flight to Dublin at Elmas with two fake Belgian passports . The couple, a man and a woman aged 35 and 34 of Iranian origin, were stopped by the police officers on duty at the airport, suspicious because the two were unable to express themselves in what should have been their mother tongue . The failure to read the microchip on both documents then led the officers to investigate further, which revealed that they were counterfeit passports.

The couple was then arrested for possession and manufacturing of false identification documents.

The judicial authority has already ordered the validation of the arrests, ordering the release of both with the no objection to expulsion.

The Police Chief of Cagliari issued an order against them to leave the national territory within 7 days.
