The third Wayfarers' Candlestick was inaugurated last night in Sassari. In the Church of Sant'Agostino, Archbishop Francesco Antonio Soddu blessed the new candle, crafted by Falegnameria Bussu and featuring pictorial engravings by Franco Farina. After Vespers and the words of the high prelate, the Candlestick was made to "dance" for the first time in the square in front of the church. The dance was also attended by the mayor, Giuseppe Mascia, and the president of the Fondazione Sardegna, Giacomo Spissu, sponsors of the candlestick for their respective organizations, which funded the work. For a short while, Soddu also served as the candlestick's head, leading the dance. The Guild will parade with the piece for the first time this year during the Faradda on August 14th.
