The Summer of the Rude: Illegal Beach Umbrellas in the Sarrabus, Swimmer with a Speargun in the Sinis Protected Area

The summer of rude and abusive people continues in Sardinia, with the latest two cases involving Sarrabus and Oristano.
Fifty beach umbrellas and the same number of sunbeds were seized in Villasimius; around ten (but many more sunbeds and other equipment) were seized in Castiadas .
The first raid took place on Serr'e Morus beach, a large cove facing a hill between Porto Giunco and Simius. The owners of the condominium of the same name (or at least the tenants) had virtually privatized the beach . The umbrellas and sunbeds systematically occupied the front row 24 hours a day. So the Forestry Corps intervened and confiscated everything.
In Castiadas, however, the umbrellas and deckchairs were confiscated by the local police in Cala Pira and Cala Sinzias .
In the Sinis Marine Protected Area, the image of a swimmer armed with a spear gun has caused a stir. This is an area where, as Adiconsum reports, there are increasingly frequent incidents of non-compliance with the rules: trash and cigarette butts on the sand, trampled dunes, damaged plants, sand taken as souvenirs, fires, illegal camping, unauthorized parking, animals where they are not allowed, tents and camps on public beaches.
The association is thus relaunching the "tourist DASPO," modeled after the urban DASPO, to be applied in serious cases or for repeat offenders, up to and including expulsion from Sardinia for one, two, or three years. For residents, the ban would instead apply to the municipal area in which the violation occurred.
