"A surprising gallery that captures the eye and prompts deep reflection. Nicola Cioglia's solo exhibition speaks of a soul on the move, powerfully drawn to humanity in its many forms, often dark, uncomfortable, and, in some ways, frightening."

With these words, Elisabetta Frau, director of the Madn and the Monte Luna archaeological park, introduced the opening evening of the solo painting exhibition "Sign and Irony in Art," which will remain on display at the Domu Nosta Archaeological Museum (Madn) in Senorbì until October 26.

The works—characterized by an interest in the unusual, the original, and the outcast—were presented by Marcella Serreli, art historian and former director of the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Cagliari.

Many artists have influenced Cioglia's art, including Salvador Dalí, Die Brücke, the CO.BR.A group, Basquait, and the Italian Transavanguardia, as he himself stated in an old interview given when he was still a student.

But that's not all, as Elisabetta Frau confirms: "With a solid artistic background that recognizes Goya and Picasso as sources of great inspiration, Nicola Cioglia stands out in the contemporary art scene for his ability to depict the world around him with strength, irony, and extreme realism." The young artist's exhibition can be visited Tuesday through Sunday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the museum at Via Scaledda 1.
