A busy summer season, packed with activities, excitement, and satisfaction. The Alghero Yacht Club closed the summer of 2026 with a more than positive outcome, confirming the continued growth of its Sailing School, which allows the Alghero club to promote the culture of the sea and sailing.
The most notable feature of the past season was the growth of the Sailing School, which once again saw an increase in enrollment this year. More and more girls and boys have chosen to explore the world of sailing, discovering a sport that combines fun, education, and respect for the environment. The Sailing School remains the flagship of the Alghero Yacht Club, which, thanks to the efforts of its Board of Directors, supported by skilled instructors and staff, guides young students on an experience that goes far beyond lessons at sea.
One of the most significant moments of the summer of 2026 was undoubtedly the Club's 80th anniversary, celebrated with a convivial gathering at the Port headquarters, attended by all members and the various presidents who have succeeded one another over the years. Meanwhile, we look to the future and wait to see where the Alghero sailing school has placed in the annual national rankings. The last known result was 18th.
Also noteworthy was the YCA's participation in the Blue Marina Awards ceremony in Rome, at the Chamber of Deputies, during which the Port of Alghero, where the club actively operates, was recognized as one of the best in Italian tourist ports.
President Pier Paolo Carta states: "We are deeply grateful to our members and their families who have placed or reaffirmed their trust in us. Our sailing school is truly a source of pride for the club, and we are confident it has a bright future ahead, beyond the national rankings where we perform well every year. It was another long summer, filled with experiences and activities, the summer of our 80th anniversary. But it was also the year of the third Blue Marina Award for the port of Alghero, where we were present as an active participant in the Alghero marina. I thank the entire board of directors who, alongside me, work tirelessly to ensure the club reaches its full potential."
