The Sardinia Boat Show is changing its name, date, and location, returning to Olbia, where it was originally founded (at the Marina), but to the city center's docks: the Brin, dedicated to maxi yachts, the adjacent old port, and part of the city's waterfront. The Sardinia Boat Show, which will be held from May 29 to June 6, 2027, was presented today at the Genoa Boat Show by Cipnes Gallura, together with the Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Olbia, the Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, and representatives of the industrial consortia of Sassari and Ogliastra. The goal is to promote the Sardinian system with a particular focus on the two core segments of the supply chain: boat production and construction and refit, repair, and maintenance, along with all industrial activities and services related to the nautical industry. "Gallura, Cagliari, Ogliastra, and Sassari," reads the Cipnes press release, "represent the main regional hubs of the Sardinian nautical industry: different yet complementary entities that the Sardinia Boat Show intends to present to international operators as parts of a single regional system." The system will be completed by a component dedicated to training and innovation, with the presence of UniOlbia and the University of Cagliari, to promote the university programs developed in Olbia in Naval Engineering and the professionally oriented degree program in Industrial, Electrical, and Aeronautical Technologies. The date allows for the show to be timed with the opening of the tourist season, with an eye on flights from the United States, which are operational at that time. The city also offers ample space on land and at sea, accommodating vessels of various sizes, including superyachts.
"The decision to host the next edition of the Sardinia Nautical Fair in Olbia is an even more decisive step towards the future of the island's entire maritime economy," said Domenico Bagalà, president of the Sardinian Sea Port Authority. "The Port Authority wholeheartedly supports this project because Olbia, with its port, waterfront, and internationally connected airport, has the necessary characteristics to consolidate the event's national and international profile. The new venue also strengthens the connection between the port and the city, opening the waterfront not only to cultural and sporting events, but also to new opportunities for businesses, residents, and visitors to meet. The nautical industry we all look to with interest is not just tourism: it is a shipbuilding industry, innovation, advanced services, and
skilled employment. A sector that, precisely in Olbia, has one of its centers of excellence in the Mediterranean." Also present in Genoa was Regional Vice President Giuseppe Meloni. "The nautical industry is one of the sectors with the greatest growth potential for Sardinia, where high-level businesses, skills, and professionalism already exist. It is a supply chain that includes manufacturing, services, and innovation, with a strong presence on international markets," he stated. "As a Region, we are working on two fronts: supporting Sardinian businesses that want to grow abroad and making Sardinia more attractive for those who want to invest and produce on the island."
