The Serra Taccori photovoltaic park in the Uta countryside is not a viable option. Neither on the gigantic scale proposed in the initial project, nor on the smaller scale relaunched after a deluge of comments and criticisms. Nor even on the even smaller scale the company attempted to pass off as acceptable at the end of the deadline, when the Ministry of the Environment was already hard at work preparing a negative environmental compatibility assessment. The principle has been established by the Sardinian Regional Administrative Court, which has yet again rejected the plan by Diomede Srl, headquartered in Rome's EUR district: anyone wishing to build a renewable energy plant, according to the ruling filed yesterday, cannot change the rules of the game "ad libitum" (at will) as long as the arrays of blades or panels are considered "acceptable"—just to be able to install them. At most, the company can submit counterarguments. Or appeals. Otherwise, the rejection is legitimate.

The project

In October 2022, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) application was submitted to Mase. The project, initially, envisioned a silicon roof covering a total area of 2,207,790 square meters. A huge amount. After negative comments from regional authorities and associations, Diomede twice backtracked, reducing the size. But it wasn't enough.
