The Sassari-Cagliari "non-stop bus" line leaves on Friday 2 February.
The Region announces this in a note, where it is explained that «the first connection, operated by the company Logudoro Tours srl , will start at 6 from the Via De Nicola stop in Sassari and will arrive at 9 in Cagliari at the Maritime Station. All connections with departure and destination Sassari also involve Alghero airport (departure 05.30 and 14.30, arrival 9.30 and 18.30)".
There are two pairs of races at the same time: Sassari-Cagliari, departure at 6am and 3pm and Cagliari-Sassari, departure at 6am and 3pm.
The cost of the ticket is 14 euros for each journey and it will be possible to purchase the ticket on board with the addition of one euro (electronic payments are also accepted).
«All the other lines included in the plan for direct connections between the capital cities have also been authorized by the Transport Department – explains Villa Devoto. By next week the Sassari-Nuoro and Sassari-Oristano routes, operated by Arst, will be activated , and once the administrative procedures and the rest of the authorization procedures have been completed, the direct Olbia-Cagliari connection, operated by the Turmo Travel company, will also start.
Arst is also entrusted with the newly established direct line which will connect the port and airport of Olbia with the city of Sassari , with two daily trips.
Furthermore, the procedures are being completed to ensure that all buses on the "non-stop" plan in the city of Sassari can count on a stop in Corso Margherita di Savoia, near the underground car park of the Garibaldi Hemicycle and in the vicinity of the ATP terminus in via Tavolara.
«Restoring a direct connection between Sassari and Cagliari – says the regional transport councilor, Antonio Moro – means giving a concrete response to the needs of many Sardinians who, since the regretted Pani Granturismo, no longer had efficient connection services between the two main cities of Sardinia".
«The full operation of the “non-stop bus” plan – concludes the councilor – will finally allow the entire island and the North West in particular to be able to count on direct connections between the capitals with imaginable benefits for students, professionals and commuters in general ».
