Roberto Vannacci returns to Sardinia to receive the CUE Italian Excellence Award, now in its second year. The event is scheduled for 7:30 pm tomorrow at CUE Porto Cervo in Liscia di Vacca, where the general and MEP from La Spezia will receive the award, conceived by Sergio Siddi to celebrate " those individuals who have particularly distinguished themselves in society and who have operated successfully, gaining the favor of the public and the acclaim of the community."

During the free evening, Vannacci will also present his first two literary works, "The World Upside Down" and "Courage Wins: Life and Values of a Raider General," published in 2023 and 2024, respectively, and will meet with the public. The organizers announce that after the presentation, dinner with the author will be available by reservation.

But his return to Sardinia will also offer the general, born in 1968, the opportunity to rediscover a land he knows very well ("I always return there with my daughters, I share Sardinia's values and traditions," he says), and not only because Vannacci has Maddalena blood in his mother's veins .

«Between the late '50s and early '60s, my father, also a soldier, frequented the Capo San Lorenzo shooting range, and fell in love with the place, so much so that, once he retired, he used his severance pay to buy a small house not far from there, in Costa Rei, so we've been at home here since 1980».
