Ten days after the Council of State's ruling calling for the dissolution of the Uras Municipal Council, the Region intervenes.

The Council, acting on a proposal from the Councilor for Local Government, Francesco Spanedda, resolved to dissolve the organization this evening. At the same time, the executive appointed Giovanni Basolu as special commissioner to temporarily manage the organization's administrative activities.

As the Region announced, the position will last until the first round of elections for the ordinary bodies. Therefore, from today, the town will no longer be led by Mayor Samuele Fenu.

The troubled affair began last September 30th, with the resignation of seven councilors. However, the mayor, despite the lack of a quorum, convened a public meeting to appoint a replacement councilor. The former administrators then appealed first to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR), which rejected their appeal, and then to the Council of State. And now the dissolution has occurred.
