A large teddy bear, a very soft kitten, some dolls: these are the patients of the Puppet Hospital whose doctors are Dr. Sunflower and Dr. Longstocking. In recent days, an original and fun department was set up in the Canopoleno national boarding school in Sassari. The goal is to bring the world of medicine closer to that of the pediatric patient. Fear is sometimes also determined by an environment not designed for children, by the approach of adults (including their way of dressing), the lack of tools and techniques that are specific for young patients and attract their attention.

The Puppet Hospital is an initiative dedicated exclusively to children. A hospital for "sick" puppets and dolls, in which the little ones can learn about and experience a medical visit up close without being the patients themselves. Furthermore, future doctors and students of the health professions will be able to learn to approach such a difficult type of patient to approach.

In recent days, two interesting and engaging meetings were organized at the Canopoleno national boarding school for a project that has different purposes, capable of involving students from the degree course in Medicine and those from the health professions, educators (who promoted the project) and young primary school students.

They contributed to the success of the initiative, thanks to their commitment together with the students and the "patients": Giulia Astori, Serena Raja, Nicola Adamo, Sara Rossi, Alida Bertelli, Maria Paola Altea, Simona Sale, Federica Porcu, Sofia Lego, Riccardo Pozzoni, Lucia Satta and Francesca Cima in the role of puppeteer doctors.
