The port of Alghero has received a prestigious new award at the “Blue Marina Awards,” confirming its position as one of the leading Italian tourist ports.
This isn't the first time the Riviera del Corallo port has reached this milestone, a testament, organizers note, to the quality of the work carried out by the Port Consortium, its members, clubs, and operators, who make it a key infrastructure for the entire Northwest Sardinia.
Along with Alghero, a total of six Sardinian ports received awards: in the over 500 berths category, Santa Teresa Gallura was next to the Catalan port; in the 200-500 berths category, Marina di Puntaldìa in San Teodoro was awarded; in the superyacht-oriented category, the award went to Marina di Porto Cervo, while in the up to 200 berths category, Marina di Sant'Elmo (Cagliari) and Marina Cala dei Sardi (Portisco) were honored. The latter also received the special innovation award, offered by Blue Gold, thanks to an innovative device for real-time measurement of water consumption.
The awards ceremony was held in Genoa, at the Circolo Artistico Tunnel of Palazzo Doria, the UNESCO headquarters of the Genoese Rolli, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè.
"The Blue Marina Awards represent a national recognition of excellence in Italian tourist ports," explains Giancarlo Piras, president of the Alghero Port Consortium. "For us, it's a further demonstration of the quality of the work done and a stimulus to further improve, developing our port together with our members, clubs, and operators."
