More than a year has now passed since the disappearance of Michael Frison, the 25-year-old Englishman of Sardinian origin who disappeared on 12 July 2024 in Gallura, in the countryside between Luogosanto and Luras .
The mother, Cristina Pittalis , has now returned to the island permanently and is not giving up. In an interview with Fanpage, she calls for greater support from Tempio Pausania investigators and international collaboration on the investigation.
And in particular, she asks for further clarification on the emails between her son and his friend Niomi, the last person to have seen him before his disappearance . The two had met a year earlier in England and had continued their contact online for a long time. It was she who allegedly encouraged Michael to extend his stay on the island by asking for hospitality.
"When she arrived in Sassari, they left together almost immediately: around 2 p.m., they were traveling towards the countryside between Luras and Luogosanto. My son had told me that here they were supposed to help a landowner build a farmhouse in exchange for free room and board," Pittalis recounts. On July 12, the woman heard from her son for the last time; he was "lucid and serene." That afternoon, he was supposed to go to a party with Niomi, but since then, Michael has vanished into thin air .
The girl, questioned by investigators, later left Italy. Cristina Pittalis is asking Tempio investigators to initiate international collaboration to find her . Her lawyer, Maria Marras, has access to dozens of emails between the two. "I can't discuss the content, but I'm convinced my son was manipulated," she says.
