The regional secretariats of Uil-Fp, Clares, and Cisl Fp have declared a state of strike among employees of the Forestas Agency. The three unions report that "at the bargaining table with Aran, a €32 million reduction in the budget for 2026 was confirmed . This reduction will therefore prevent the development of employees or the announced new hires." The unions therefore announce that, in the absence of "an urgent and concrete, satisfactory response" regarding resources, they will implement "all necessary measures to resolve the situation."

In reality , the funds are available, but according to some reports from regional offices, they cannot be used for new hires. The region had granted the funds to Forestas to cover the increased costs of employee pension benefits, while it was initiating a dispute with INPS , claiming that the institution was responsible for those benefits. Pending the decision, it had allocated the funds, tied to that purpose.

The Region emerged victorious against the social security institute, and most of the funds were made available again. Forestas's leadership thus decided to allocate the money to new hires. The problem, according to the Budget Department, is that the constraints deriving from the reason for the allocation were not considered. In other words, the money was and is there, but it cannot be used to cover the costs of the more than 700 hires. At least not until the regional budget is approved with the new allocation. This is a purely accounting operation. The timing is therefore tied to the approval of the budget law. In the meantime, everything remains stalled.
