Sassari was a natural choice for the preview of the 4th Mens Sana Sports Literature Festival, organized by the Municipality of Bono with Lìberos . "Zero a Zero," Fabio De Roberto 's debut novel, will be presented on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Palazzo Ducale.
The Sassari-born writer, who lives in France and works as an Italian teacher and translator, sets his work in his hometown. In 2000, Fabio is 26 years old, has just started his civil service, and has moved into a small apartment in the city's historic center. Between daily neuroses and complicated existential struggles, he finds himself overwhelmed by the social overdose brought on by the World Cup. In a cauldron of anxieties, bizarre guests, and memories, the national team's matches become his only reliable point of reference, a refuge punctuated by hilarious barroom anecdotes. De Roberto will discuss this, Italy's World Cup victory, and much more with Alessandro Cadoni.
The Mens Sana festival will take place in Bono on July 16th and 17th.
