The Trenino Verde (Little Green Train) continues to be one of Sardinia's most popular summer tourist experiences. Today, Sunday, June 14th, the train departing from Mandas was once again sold out, with approximately 140 passengers aboard for a journey through some of the island's most evocative landscapes.
This is a clear sign of the popularity of the initiative, which aims to enhance the historic railway lines for tourism purposes and which, already in the first weeks of programming, is experiencing high demand on several routes, from Arbatax to Gennargentu and connections to central Sardinia.
Mandas, however, also called for the project to be consolidated and strengthened. Mayor Umberto Oppus emphasized the need for structural intervention from the Region to support the revitalization of the Trenino, considered one of the main tourist attractions not only on the island but across the entire country. "The Region needs to take charge of revitalizing the project, as it did in the 1980s," Oppus emphasized, emphasizing the need for continuity and investment.
