Another hard-working day, Wednesday, July 16th, for Sardinia's firefighting teams.

In fact, 19 interventions were carried out in as many locations on the island to tame the flames.

In several cases, the intervention of the regional fleet's aircraft was necessary.

The most challenging front was in Furtei, in the S'Alluminu area , where the flames hit a wooded area, overflown by helicopters from the Forestry Corps bases of Fenosu, Villasalto, Sorgono and Pula and where three Canadairs from Olbia airport also entered into action.

A helicopter was also in action in the countryside of Oniferi , along the State Road 128, and two others in Olbia , for a fire that broke out in the Nanuri area.

The countryside around Nurri was also under fire, with – again – a helicopter in action to support the ground teams.
