The heat gives no respite in Sardinia: "Another 10 days of African anticyclone"

Thinking back, without even going too far back in time, the summer heat was almost always brought by the Azores anticyclone. That was the dominant narrative of the Bernacca of the moment, a phenomenology of an era in which the existence of the mid-seasons was not questioned. The heat, although mitigated by ocean currents, came essentially from the Portuguese islands in the middle of the Atlantic. In the last few years, however, everything has changed.
The boiling temperatures have a one-way ticket from the Black Continent, cross the Sahara and here they are. "They are the African anticyclones, increasingly frequent", explains Carlo Spanu, lieutenant colonel of the Weather Office in Decimomannu, headquarters of the Air Force at the service of the climate. "The current area of high atmospheric pressure, the second of the year, is characterized by being anomalous: in Sardinia and Central-Southern Italy it will last another ten days, bringing the total count of the great heat to over two weeks ".
