The fourth event in Usellus is the fifth edition of the "Chistionis" series, an initiative to foster dialogue and discussion on current issues in the small communities of Marmilla. On Friday, August 29th, at 6:30 pm, in the outdoor space of the municipal library, "Stories from the Margin" will take place. This includes the presentation of the book "Incontri al confine" (Encounters at the Border) and the exhibition "I Nascosti" (The Hidden Ones). Valentina Tamborra will be present. She will be in conversation with the author Aurora Ecca.
Valentina Tamborra, born in Milan, where she lives and works, is a photographer and journalist specializing in reportage and portraiture. "Encounters at the Border" recounts some of the most intimate stories that have accompanied her on her travels, presenting them to the reader in all their disconcerting truth.
The exhibition "The Hidden" features photographs from the book of the same name, which chronicles the Sami, a largely nomadic people dedicated to reindeer herding, who have always roamed freely across the vast Arctic landscapes now divided between four distinct countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. The exhibition is organized by the municipalities of Usellus and Gonnosnò, the Consorzio Due Giare, and the Gramsciana Library.
