The man who was reported missing at sea died after his tracks were lost along the coast of Aglientu , where he was taking a ride on a rubber dinghy with a friend of his. The 77-year-old, a tourist residing in Umbertide (Perugia), drowned.

The tragedy took place in front of the Monti Russu beach when the boat overturned. The friend, of Venetian origin and also on holiday in Sardinia, was revived by the 118 doctors who intervened on the shore with the Carabinieri, the Coast Guard and the Fire Brigade, while for the Umbrian tourist there was nothing left to be done, any rescue proved useless.
